**Update Emergency Contact Information

CPS is strongly urging families to update their emergency contact information with their school. Having up-to-date emergency contact information can be useful in the event that a parent or guardian is detained by ICE.

Please contact your school clerk to ensure that your student’s emergency contact information is up-to-date.

Additional Resources

P-EBT Cards

For families who don't feel they need the benefit, you can make an impact with these funds. Since cards “can only be used to buy food to be eaten by the child who is eligible for the benefits," you cannot donate the card directly, but you may use the card to buy groceries for your family (side benefit: reducing the stigma of using these cards), and then DONATE an equivalent amount to a food pantry or mutual aid organization.

According to our local Common Pantry, financial contributions are preferred (rather than donating food) and will have the greatest impact, since pantries can buy the most-needed foods at a lower cost.
Follow the links to donate to Common Pantry or the Greater Chicago Food Depository, for example. Or you can use the locator to find a pantry near you.
We have also included a link to the AGB Solidarity Fund, which supports Bell families that are experiencing economic hardship due to COVID.
